I just read that my relative is painting her church, and I am wandering if is she painting her parents, aunts or cousins and what are the colors of choice, maybe they will have World cup paintings...I don't know. I am not trying to be cynical towards my relative worldview of church, but really makes me think, what is church anyways?
CHurch is more than cool mottos, walls, places or catchy themes such as "student church, surfers church, Japanese church, mexican church, superhypercalvinistiexpialidoucious church, stripper's church...blablabla". So what is church anyways? Christ, you and me, regular sinners in need of redemption. But what is the reality of today's church anyways? regular sinners who don't remember anymore who they are in Christ, sinners in need of a sermon more than a savior, sinners in need of a book club more than a place in the body, sinners in need of someone else's understanding of God (theology) instead of God's word, sinners in need of strong leadership instead of a Master.
